Cookie information
A plain-English summary of what this website stores on your device, and what it does not. This page sits alongside section 11 of our Privacy Policy.

1.What this website currently uses
In short
This website does not set any cookies. There is no analytics, advertising, remarketing or third-party tracking installed on it. Because no cookies are set, there is nothing for you to consent to and no cookie banner to click away.
If that changes (for example if visitor analytics are added in future) this page will be updated first, and any cookies that are not strictly necessary will only be set after you have given your consent.
2.Progress saved in your own browser
Some of the free tools on this site, for example the preparation checklists and the “next steps after an assessment” checklist, remember which boxes you have ticked so that your progress is still there if you close the page and come back.
That information is saved using your browser’s local storage. It stays on your own device, it is not a cookie, it is never sent to us, and we cannot see it. It contains only which items you ticked and which audience you chose, no name, no email address, no assessment information.
You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for this website, or by using your browser in private/incognito mode.
3.Links and services from other organisations
This site links out to other organisations, local authority SEND Local Offers, awarding bodies, government services, professional bodies and charities. Those websites are independent of Defining Dyslexia and set their own cookies under their own policies. We suggest checking the cookie and privacy information on any site you visit from here.
Things this site does not do:
- no Google Analytics or other visitor analytics;
- no advertising, remarketing or conversion tracking pixels;
- no social media tracking widgets;
- no embedded chat or heat-mapping tools;
- no profiling of visitors based on browsing behaviour.
5.Questions about this page
If you have a question about cookies, tracking or anything else covered in our Privacy Policy, email definingdyslexia@outlook.com.
